Fran
Bailey the previous minister for Small Business announced Round 3
of the Building Entrepreneurship in Small Business (BESB) for
training and mentoring projects which we were successful in
obtaining to run our 'Springboard to Small Business
Success' project and this will take place early next year

CREEDA
Projects is in the 2nd year of a 3 year longitudinal research
project for WorkCover NSW. The study looks at the awareness
levels and behaviors of small businesses (less than 20 employees)
regarding workplace OH+S. The results will inform WorkCover
NSW of the efficacy of its small business interventions and improve
its engagement with small business at varying stages in their
lifecycles, with the overall aim of promoting a higher level
of understanding of issues and compliance with OH+S
legislation among small businesses.
CREEDA Projects was
contacted by Peter Farr Consultants to help in a feasibility study
for the City of Wanneroo. Stage one included
the development of a strategy for the provision of business
incubation services within the city of Waneroo which has recently
been completed. Stage 1 involved consultation with stakeholders and
key informants, along with a survey of small / micro business in
the City of Wanneroo region to test the level of demand for such a
service. Stage 2 looked in more detail at the Governance
Model, the Service Delivery Model, the Financial Projections, and
the Plan for Implementation.
INTERNATIONAL
Strategic,
Policy and Operational Support to the BADIR Program for Technology
Incubation. Saudi Arabia, 2010 to 2015
CREEDA
Projects is providing consultancy services to support the
development and management of Saudi Arabia’s technology business
incubation industry for King Abdulaziz City for Science and
Technology (KACST). A project designed to provide a range
of strategic, policy and management support services to BADIR which
is KACST’s national technology incubation support organization. The
BADIR program currently has two operational national incubators
(ICT and Bio-technology) with three other national incubators in
various stages of development (Advanced Manufacturing,
Nanotechnology, Energy). The intention of KACST is, through BADIR,
to support the establishment of at least 10 regional university
technology incubators as well as other incubators through BADIR’s
role in initiating and facilitating the Saudi Business Incubator
Network (SBIN).This is a 5 year
project.
Development and management of BADIR-ICT
and Bio Technology, Saudi Arabia, 2008 to 2010
CREEDA Projects is undertaking in the
development and management of Saudi Arabia’s first technology
business incubators (ICT and Biotechnology) for King Abdulaziz City
for Science and Technology (KACST). A project designed to
provide effective management for all functions of an
ICT Incubator (BADIR). These include coordination of shared
services and use of facilities, provision of business advice and
assistance to member companies, recruitment and facilitation of the
involvement of business mentors, client selection and
graduation process, monitoring and evaluation of incubators
and member companies' performance and reporting on program
operations and activities.This is a 2 year
project.
Work with the World Banks Incubator
Initiative (infoDev)
World Bank’s infoDev Program – currently
Incubator Initiative Asia Regional Facilitator
A number of short term contracts to
support the infoDev (Information for Development Program) incubator
initiative, including: mid term review, Monitoring Evaluation and
Impact Assessment (MEIA), development of Toolkit for Incubation on
Small Island States (SIDS), resource person and technical advisor.
Currently engaged as a consultant to the infoDev Incubator
Initiative as the Asia Regional Facilitator.
Technical Advisor to the World Bank’s
infoDev Incubator Initiative, December 2004 to
present
Advisor and resource person to the infoDev
Incubator Initiative administered by the World Bank. InfoDev seeks
to learn lessons about innovation and entrepreneurship through
support for 52 grantees in developing countries and by improving
their performance. Of particular importance is learning lessons
about how incubation and innovation and entrepreneurship support
can be used to impact on poverty alleviation, the business
environment and entrepreneurship.
Monitoring and Evaluation Assessment
of the World Bank's infoDev Incubator
Initiative.
Monitoring Evaluation and Impact
Assessment of the World Bank’s infoDev Incubator initiative
(www.infoDev.org ) in consortia with the OTF Group (USA), Louise
Walker Consulting (Canada), UK Business Incubation (2006). This
involved site interviews with 51 organisation in 45 countries,
development of 10 case studies, a monitoring and evaluation report
and a final report. CREEDA projects was responsible for field work
in Asia, Central Asia and Eastern Europe and Africa, the initial
report and helping capture the lessons and impact and with the
final report.
